Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about counselling with Lucy
- How do I book a first session?
- Get in touch by email at lucy@lucycreancounselling.co.uk or call 07947 862832. I offer a free 30-minute introductory call so we can discuss what has brought you to counselling and whether we are a good fit to work together.
- How much do sessions cost?
- Sessions are on a sliding scale of £55–£65 based on what you can afford. An initial introductory session is £20. I believe counselling should be accessible to everyone.
- How long is a session?
- Each session lasts 50 minutes.
- Where do you work?
- I work from two locations in Hove — The Wilbury Clinic at 109 Church Road and Hove Therapy Rooms. I also offer online sessions.
- How many sessions will I need?
- This varies for each person. Some people benefit from short term work of six to twelve sessions, others prefer longer term therapy. We will discuss this together and review regularly.
- Is counselling confidential?
- Yes. Everything discussed in our sessions is confidential. The only exceptions are if I have serious concerns about your safety or the safety of others, in line with BACP ethical guidelines.
- What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?
- The terms are often used interchangeably. I am trained as a psychotherapeutic counsellor which draws on both traditions. In practice the approach is tailored to what works best for you.
